Community Sound Bath & Acupuncture

1. What is Community Sound Bath & Acupuncture?

Community acupuncture is a form of acupuncture where multiple clients receive treatments in a shared space. This method allows the acupuncture treatment to foster a sense of community healing and relaxation. When combined with sound therapy, participants are bathed in vibrational sound waves, utilizing a variety of instruments, to heighten overall sense of relaxation and calm.

2. What should I expect during my sound bath & acupuncture session?

You’ll be laying in a comfortable position on your yoga mat in a group setting. Dr. Molly will place 4 thin, sterile needles at specific points on your body. You will have an acupuncture point on each wrist and ankle. You might feel a brief sensation when the needles are inserted, but it should not be painful. Everyone will receive the same points that are designed for stress and anxiety reduction to help you relax, unwind and melt into a state of calm and bliss. These points are chosen as they help downregulate the fight or flight response of the body, leaving the body in a more relaxed state.  Simultaneously, Lindsey will be weaving a gentle symphony of sound throughout the room. You may find you are so relaxed, that you fall asleep right on your mat!

3. Do I need any prior experience with sound bath or acupuncture?

No prior experience is necessary. Dr. Molly will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have surrounding acupuncture.

4. Are the needles safe? What measures are in place for cleanliness and safety?

Yes, we use single-use, sterile needles to ensure your safety and hygiene. We prioritize hygiene and cleanliness. Dr. Molly is experienced in community acupuncture settings and all treatments are done under Clean Needle Technique.

5. How should I prepare for my acupuncture and sound bath session?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring your yoga mat and any other items to make you comfortable, like a pillow and/or blanket. It’s also a good idea to avoid eating a heavy meal immediately before your session

6. Can I attend the acupuncture session if I’m pregnant or have certain medical conditions?

Yes! Please let us know before we get started if you are pregnant or have any specific medical conditions. You may also reach out to the acupuncturist ahead of time for more specific guidance.

7. How long will acupuncture results last?

Everyone’s body responds differently to acupuncture, depending on the current state of your body when you are getting treatment. We expect the relaxation bliss to continue over the next few days after treatment. For long term results we typically recommend consistent weekly treatments if we are targeting more long term exposure to stress or targeting other specific conditions.
